What’s New With Offcall!

What an exciting week! Offcall’s referral coordinator Dennis King has hit the pavement with 10 in-person and virtual practice visits in town! He’s setting up workspaces and onboarding staff to Offcall’s desktop referral tool, which syncs directly with your mobile app and allows your staff to manage referrals across the whole practice.
The set up is seamless (under 10 mins) and we want to get everyone on this newsletter onboarded!
Want Dennis to stop by or jump on a virtual call? Just reply to this email. We’ll coordinate a time that works for your schedule.

Columbus Team Spotlight: Dennis King
This week, we wanted to shine a light on Dennis so you get to know him better. Dennis brings 10+ years of clinical experience to the Offcall team and is focused on making the "referral handoff" effortless.

1. Dennis, tell us a little bit about your background as a referral coordinator. I’ve worked in a clinical setting for 10+ years. My primary responsibilities were to make the referral process as seamless as possible for both doctors and patients.
2. What are some of the biggest challenges you've experienced first-hand with the referral system as it exists today? A lot of practices don’t have designated people that focus on referrals so things tend to get lost or looked over. The most difficult part is having to explain to patients why they haven’t been contacted for an appointment, because in reality, there is no streamlined process between practices.
3. What drew you to Offcall's mission? The fact that someone finally acknowledged the breakdown in communication, and how it impacts patient care is what really drew me to Offcall. I’m excited to be part of a team that wants to make things better, not only for the physicians, but also their staff and most importantly their patients.
4. What are the biggest benefits as you see them for not just physicians but also for staff? The biggest benefit is having everything in one place – you no longer have to call offices countless times or constantly check the fax machine waiting for documents to come through. Both the Offcall app and staff tool allow direct contact between offices, relieving both staff frustration and errors that we normally see in the referral process.
5. From your early onboarding sessions with practices and staff, what kind of feedback have you received? The most common feedback is how simple the tool is to use. When I explain how everything can be done without needing multiple tools or processes, people get excited!
6. How can others get in touch with you? You can DM me on the Offcall app or reach me via email at [email protected]. My direct number is also 614-375-3789. Call or text. I’m excited to hear from both physicians and staff and share how Offcall can benefit your workspace.
